Flamarion Assunção (Pinduca) is the field assistant of the Gigante project. Pinduca has vast experience in fieldwork in the Amazon having worked with several biotic groups, including mosquitos, snakes, birds, and trees. Pinduca’s knowledge of the Amazon forest comes from his upbringing in the riverine community of Igapoaçu and his work as a field assistant with many of the Amazonian experts at the National Institute of Amazonian Research (INPA).
